Glass panels were chosen for these two
Class A buildings in Somerset County, New Jersey.
The elevators were engineered to operate in a very specific way
under strict weight conditions. Therefore, adding too much weight
to the car would disrupt the Original Equipment Manufacturer's
(OEM) specifications.
It was quite imperative that Liberty conform to the existing
design criteria at this location.
In order for the customer to receive their desired look without
re-engineering the entire system's mechanics, light-weight glass
panels were fashioned to adhere to the existing equipment's
guidelines.
Ultimately, Liberty refurbished four cars in two buildings, all
with glass panels and bronze binders. All panels are
conveniently manufactured to removable rather than being
permanently affixed to the cab shell. The final product resulted in
chic cabs that reflected the upscale quality of the lobby and the
building's tenants.
