Local 5 IUEC Participates in “Fight Night” To Support Injured Veterans
Philadelphia, PA – (September 2, 2016) – On September 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm, members of Local 5’s charitable organization, A Lift For A Vet, will be boxing at Katie O’ Donnell’s Irish pub in an effort to raise funds to support injured United State’s veterans.
One hundred percent of the proceeds generated will benefit A Lift For A Vet, which seeks to purchase, install, and maintain vertical transportation systems in the homes of disabled U.S. military veterans at no cost to the recipient.
Terry Saunders, Local 5 member, Liberty Elevator employee and U.S. Marine will be fighting in the event, managed by Costello Boxing Club. Saunders was an active duty Marine from 1999-2003 and was deployed to Kuwait where he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, prior to being honorably discharged. Saunders is happy to participate in the event, noting, “Anything that helps my fellow veterans.”
Tickets are $25.00 and sponsorships and boxing spots are still available. Liberty is proud to support the IUEC and the U.S. military veterans.
